All six men were detained by police according to reports in Israel
Six Israeli spectators were detained by police at the end of the game between Israel and Spain on Monday after manging to get close to Real Madrid's Isco, one of them armed with a knife.
The six men managed to get on to the pitch after the game and one of them broke off from the group and moved towards Isco with a knife in his hand, reported Israeli outlet Ynet on Tuesday.
"He separated from the group and he hurried towards Isco. As he got closer, the knife dropped from his hands and he was detained by police before reaching Isco," added the Times of Israel.
Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld told EFE that the Spanish players were under no risk at any moment.
"There was no security incident. The usual security measures were carried out last night, during and after the game," he said.
Spain and Israel were playing in a World Cup qualifier, with La Roja winning 1-0 thanks to a goal from Asier Illarramendi.
Israel will not take part in the World Cup next year after winning just three of their games: two against Liechtenstein and one against Albania.
