Julen Lopetegui extends Spain contract until 2020
The RFEF have tied down the coach for the next two years
Julen Lopetegui has the complete support of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) and has extended his contract with Spain until 2020
The RFEF's new president Luis Rubiales, therefore, ties down Lopetegui, who replaced Vicente Del Bosque two years ago, until Euro 2020.
"I am very happy that this day has come about," Rubiales said. "We couldn't let Julen and his team go. We have utter professional admiration and respect and we want to announce his renewal until 2020.
"We have high hopes for the World Cup, we know it's hard [and] like he says we only have one ticket for three matches, but with him, everything is easier."
Lopetegui took the Spain job after leaving Portuguese side Porto, having previously coached La Roja's U21 side to great success.
