Did Cristiano Ronaldo dedicate his goal to Leo Messi?

Cristiano scores the first goal from the penalty spot and then touched his chin, causing some in Argentina to suggest he was dedicating the goal to Messi

The rivarly between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo is always present on the football pitch, even when the two aren't facing off against each other. Each gesture or celebration is analysed in minute detail.

This happened against last night when Cristiano converted a penalty during the match between Portugal and Spain at the World Cup. Cristiano went to the corner to celebrate his goal and repeatedly touched his chin, as if pretending he had a beard.

In Argentina, the newspaper 'Ole' speculate that this gesture was directed to Messi's 'G.O.A.T' tag in world football. Of course, in English, goat can also refer to the animal of the same name. In fact, the magazine 'Paper' recently used a front page with Leo and goats.

And so that could mean that Cristiano doesn't agree with that belief and the gesture was towards Messi. Maybe he was dedicating his goal to the Barcelona man.

Until the Portuguese man says something on the matter, it's pure speculation of course.
