Brazil sweat on Neymar 's fitness as star is unable to train with his teammates

The Brazilian forward was only able to complete 15 minutes of the session before going indoors

Neymar received a lot of criticism for being excessively greedy and selfish during Brazil's opener against Switzerland. However, keeping hold of the ball came at a cost as the Brazilian superstar was fouled 19 times in the match which ended 1-1. The former Barcelona player was still suffering from the after effects of some heavy-handed tackling by the Swiss and he was unable to complete the full session, going inside after just 15 minutes.

It's believed the issue is related to his ankle, the same ankle he was favouring after taking more than one whack in that area during the course of the game against Switzerland. Although Rodrigo Lamer said Neymar wouldn't receive any special treatment as he was "fully fit", the player was only able to complete a small part of the session.

Accompanied by a physio, Neymar couldn't keep up with the pace of his teammates and so had to abandon training early. However it appears the injury isn't likely to keep him from playing against Costa Rica on Friday following this statement from Brazil's press officer. "Neymar left training because he felt a little bit of pain in his right ankle after receiving a number of fouls the other day. This was a recovery session for the starters. He'll train as normal tomorrow."
