Leo Messi: I've had a hamstring problem for some time
The Barca star didn't play for Argentina on Friday
Lionel Messi sat out Argentina's 2-0 win over Italy in Manchester on Tuesday due to concerns about a hamstring problem.
The Barcelona star hopes to be back for Tuesday's game against Spain, though, after feeling the muscle fatigue during Thursday's training session.
"I have been suffering from this hamstring injury for some time," Messi told TyC Sports before the game, which was settled with goals from Banega and Lanzini.
"I always want to play but the road to the World Cup is still long. We decided to wait for this game [against Italy] to rest but I'm optimistic about playing against Spain."
