Coutinho also featured as Brazil eased to a 2-0 win over the U.S in New Jersey

Barcelona midfielder Arthur Melo made his full debut for Brazil as they beat the United States 2-0 in a friendly on Friday.

Liverpool's Roberto Firmino and Paris Saint-Germain's Neymar scored the goals, with Barça's Philippe Coutinho also playing in the game.

However, it was Douglas Costa who was the star of the show, the Juventus forward's pace and power setting up Firmino to open the scoring in the 11th minute.

Neymar added the second from the penalty spot shortly before the break after right-back Fabinho was brought down in the area after surging forward.

Both teams made changes in the second half and there were no more goals, with Neymar missing the best chance to add a third goal in the 51st minute.

Arthur, who joined Barça from Gremio this summer for an initial €31 million, came on for Fred on the hour mark to make his international debut.
