Antoine Griezmann, who Barça hope to sign from Atletico Madrid this summer, scored the third goal for Didier Deschamps' side.
Italy, one of the big name absentees from this summer's finals in Russia, replied through Leonardo Bonucci but were well beaten in Nice in the end.
France domingated from the start and took the lead when Umtiti scored on the rebound after Sirigu had saved from Kylian Mbappe.
The home side continued to press and were rewarded with a penalty when Lucas Hernandez was fouled. Griezmann didn't miss from the spot.
Italy pulled one back on the break to cap a lively first half. Mario Balotelli won a free-kick and Bonucci turned the ball home after Hugo Lloris' attempted clearance.
The game broke up with substitutes after the break but there was still a third goal from Dembele, who had previously hit the bar.
