The Brazilian will not play against Lyon this weekend

He has missed a number of games for various reasons

Maybe disappear isn't the right word. But what's clear is that Neymar's degree of involvement at Paris Saint-Germain is short of what was expected.

The most recent example being the Brazilian's absence from Unai Emery's squad for the game against Lyon this weekend. He's missing the match because of some muscle problems, it's said. Ney's continuity in Paris is not proving his strong point.

'Ney' has never played morethan five league games in a row for PSG...

It's impossible to find a run of more than five league games that he has played in a row. In addition, looking back at the games he has missed or has erred in throws up some curious information.

The first big moment in PSG's season was the 2-2 draw against Marseille when Neymar lost his cool and was sent off after reacting to a string of challenges, the last by Ocampos. Due to the red card, he missed the game against Nice. Against Nantes, he was also missing because of a mysterious rib injury.

On top of that, on Dec. 13, Emery 'strangely' gave him a rest and he returned to Brazil (something which did not go down well with Cavani and Co) with the 'excuse' being that his sister was sick. The most recent is the game against Lyon, but it's now a regular occurrence for the Brazilian to miss games and the explanations have been scarce...

He has also missed league games against Montpellier, Angers and Lille. Neymar has not played more than five league games in a row since he joined the club in August: played five games, missed one, played three games, missed two, played four games, missed one, played two games, missed one, played one game, missed one...
