The two Brazilians spoke about the midfielder's tricky situation

Adrien Rabiot has not been out of the news at Paris Saint-Germain this week -- and not because of his performances on the pitch. The French midfielder has been sidelined by the club after refusing to extend his contract as he looks for a new adventure, which could be in Barcelona.

The questions in the mixed zone after Tuesday's League Cup game were constance. In this case, it was Marquinhos and Thiago Silva who had to respond. The former said it was a "complicated" situation but lamented the possible loss of Rabiot: "It's a shame, because he's a friend. We've grown together at PSG, but he took his decision. The club took theirs and there's nothing to add."

Thiago Silva, meanwhile, said: "Even if he doesn't play, I will stay by his side, because he's a good guy and I have a lot of respect for him. He's a great friend." The Brazilian, though, also asked for respect for the club: "The team is more important than all the players and a decisions been taken and it must be respected."

Rabiot may not have the support of the supporters -- who revealed a banner against him on Tuesday -- but he does have the backing of his teammates, it seems.
