Edinson Cavani has told PSG he won't sign a new contract and isn't interested in playing in this season's Champions League

Edinson Cavani has informed PSG that he won't be signing a new deal with the club and, as such, won't be involved in their Champions League fixtures for the rest of this season. All this comes from Radio Monte Carlo (RMC) Sport.

PSG had originally hoped that Cavani would sign a short-extension to cover the European competition's conclusion but that proposal has been dismissed. He will instead search for a new club from the 30th June.

Cavani has played 301 matches for PSG, scoring 200 goals and providing 37 assists. During his time at the French club he's picked up 19 honours: six leagues, four cups, five league cups and four French Super Cups.

Another player who is following that same path is Thomas Meunier. The right back doesn't want to extend his stay in Paris and will look for a new club at the beginning of July. Thiago Silva is out of contract too but hasn't confirmed or denied he will lead the club out in the Champions League.

Cavani and Meunier would also miss the French Cup and League Cup finals against Saint-Etienne and Lyon respectively.
