The French side have a tough group, featuring Liverpool and Napoli

Paris Saint-Germain coach Thomas Tuchel wants his side to take Real Madrid as an example as they look to conquer the Champions League.

The French champions kick off their European campaign against Liverpool this week and Tuchel has been speaking to L'Equipe about what his side can do to finally win the competition.

"Real Madrid show us how we have to be," he said. "They have a generation of players and they have experience in these games, and over and over again, they know that in the end they win those games.

"They know how to win big games and to resist the pressure. Maybe we are missing their conviction. Real Madrid always play in a way that they are convinced that they can win the Champions League

PSG lost to Madrid last season and Tuchel, who was not in charge at the time, said: "If in the first game against Real Madrid you deserve to win, you're close, but in the end, you concede three goals and it is tough.

“I saw the second leg with my coaching staff, and you felt that PSG were not totally convinced of being able to win it, unlike many of the Real Madrid players.”
