Paris Saint-Germain eye Roma's Jose Mourinho to replace Galtier
The Portuguese coach would love to deliver the Champions League to the Parisians
Everything indicates that Christophe Galtier will not stay at Paris Saint-Germain next season. Not even the league title will be enough for him. The balance of the season, eliminated from the cups and the Champions League, has been bad and his work has not convinced. PSG are already preparing a new project in which Lionel Messi will not be present and the sporting director Luis Campos will be in charge of starting from scratch again.
And Campos does not want any more experiments and has chosen José Mourinho. The PSG sporting director has already spoken to Jorge Mendes, Mourinho's representative, to sound out the possibility of him becoming the new coach of the Parisian team.
Mourinho has once again risen to prominence at Roma, with whom he is bidding for the Europa League after winning last year's Conference League. The Portuguese is back in the limelight after some dark years in England with Manchester United and Tottenham.
The problem is that Mourinho has a contract with Roma until 2024 and the Portuguese would have to negotiate to leave this summer. Even so, the most recent information, delivered by the 'Gazzetta dello Sport', details that Mourinho will end up leaving the Olimpico after the end of the current season, leaving unfinished his remaining year of contract with the Italian team.
For this reason, PSG do not rule out having to pay a transfer fee as compensation, as has already happened at other clubs such as Bayern Munich with Nagelsmann or Chelsea with Potter.
The PSG project could captivate the Portuguese. Mourinho is tempted by the idea of being the first coach to win the Champions League with the Paris team, which has so far eluded them.
