Neymar will be "fit and ready" for the World Cup in Russia and will not be harmed by his recent injury, the Brazil doctor Rodrigo Lasmar said.
He was responsible for the surgery on Neymar's fifth metatarsal, which the player injured in a game against Marseille in February.
"Our expectation is that Neymar arrives fit and ready and will be able to prepare perfectly well for the World Cup," Lasmar said in an interview with 'GloboEsporte'.
"Our objective is that he recovers as best as possible and continuously. He is taking steps in his recovery."
The doctor, however, admitted Neymar might need some time to get sharp again after so long away from the pitch.
"We need to improve his physical condition because it is probably at a low level. Players who are returning from injury need an individual assessment to design the best strategy for them," he added.
