Goalkeeper Buffon close to joining Paris Saint-Germain
The Italian will sign for the French champions until 2020
Gianluigi Buffon is close to becoming Paris Saint-Germain's new goalkeeper. According to various reports in Italy, the stopper will play in France for the next two seasons, until 2020.
Buffon had decided to retire but a tempting offer from the Ligue 1 champions has seen him change his plans at the last minute.
His role, though, is likely to be as the backup goalkeeper given that PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi said on Sunday that “Areola is out first choice goalkeeper and will be next season."
The veteran keeper said goodbye to Juventus this weekend when he played his final ever game for the Turin club.
