Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon, 40, predicted that his new Paris Saint-Germain team-mate Neymar will recover from the disappointment of being knocked out of the World Cup by Belgium.

Brazil went down 2-1 in Kazan and Neymar said he didn't know if he could recover to play football again.

"I think it's a difficult moment that we have all gone through in our career," said Buffon. "There are times that you have to know how to handle well. A champion like Neymar will know to channel the disappointment to return with more will than ever."

On the World Cup, which Italy did not qualify for, Buffon added: "France will get to the final. They are an extraordinary national team with considerable talent. They are a candidate to win. In theory I thought Brazil were favourites but with their elimination I see France."
