Iniesta made his J-League debut for Vissel Kobe but couldn't prevent his new side from losing 3-0

Former Barcelona captain Andrés Iniesta made his debut this Sunday for his new side Vissel Kobe. It wasn't the J-League debut Iniesta deserved as his side lost 3-0, seeing them lose ground in the standings. Iniesta admitted he didn't enjoy his first appearance in a Kobe Vissel shirt.

"I'm hurt. No one likes losing. On a personal level, I'm happy to have made my debut but I'm hurt because of the loss." These were the first words from Iniesta in the post-match press conference. When he was a little more relaxed, he spoke about how grateful he was for the welcome he'd received from fans as well as his teammates.

"I'm grateful for the kind way the fans have responded to me," added Iniesta. "My teammates have been very helpful too. For now we need to keep working hard so the victories start flowing. That's the first step to a happy ending."

"It's too soon to talk about the differences. It's time to for me to adapt. We're talking about talented players, physically strong and the challenge is to improve every time," concluded Iniesta.
