The former Barcelona captain was received with applause in his first training session

Andrés Iniesta trained for the first time with his new team in Japan, Vissel Kobe, ahead of his debut on Sunday.

The former Barcelona captain took part in the warm-up and then a rondo with his new team-mates, who received him with applause at the club's training facilities.

Iniesta is set to be named in the squad named by Kobe coach Takayuki Yoshida for the game against Shonan Bellmare.

"I'm physically well, I think there are chances to play in Sunday's game," said Iniesta to Japanese media.

The midfielder could debut this week in Japan, where his signing has awoken great interest. Iniesta was presented on May 26 and then participated in the World Cup before arriving back in Japan on Wednesday.

"I want to play as soon as possible," said Iniesta to journalists in Osaka when he arrived, with 300 fans present too.
