Villarreal earned hard-fought win over Alavés 3-1 at Estadio de La Ceramica

Villarreal sways pass Alavés 3-1 on Wednesday at Estadio de La Ceramica. Villarreal wanted to improve their position in the tournament after losing 4-0 against Barcelona while Alavés had to settle for a draw in the last match played of the competition. As of today, Villarreal and Alavés occupy position 3rd (7 points) and 19th (1 point) respectively after playing a total of 4 matches.

Villarreal opening the goal line, with a goal from Paco Alcacer in the 13th minute. Alavés found an equaliser thanks to a goal from Edgar Mendez in the 36th minute to establish the 1-1. Villarreal took the lead thanks to a penalty goal from Gerard Moreno in the 45th minute just before the end of the 45 minutes to establish the 2-1, which saw the first half to a 2-1.

Villarreal boosted the game in the second half, thanks to a new goal from Paco Alcacer, scoring his second goal in the 67th minute, finalising the game with a 3-1.
