Valencia see off Barcelona too easily at Mestalla
Valencia sways pass Barcelona 2-0 on Saturday at Mestalla. Valencia faced the match with a desire to make up their league after losing against Mallorca 4-1 while Barcelona came from winning 1-0 against Granada in the last match played. As of today, Valencia is 5th in the LaLiga, with 34 points from 21 matches, while Barcelona sits at 1st with 43 points after playing a total of 21 matches.

Valencia started strong in the second half of the game soon, thanks to a good early calamitous own goal from Jordi Alba in the 48th minute. Later, Valencia scored again and increased their advantage 2-0 thanks to a goal from Maxi Gomez in the 77th minute, which saw the second half to a 2-0.
As for substitutions, both coaches used full substitutions. For Valencia, Rodrigo Moreno, Jaume Costa and Ruben Sobrino came on for Kevin Gameiro, Maxi Gomez and Carlos Soler, while Barça brought on Arturo Vidal, Alex Collado and Ivan Rakitic to replace Arthur, Ansu Fati and Frenkie De Jong.
The referee booked Francis Coquelin from Valencia, while for Barcelona Gerard Pique, Samuel Umtiti and Sergio Busquets saw a yellow card as well.
Barcelona and Valencia will play at home stadium against Levante and Celta respectively.
