Valencia coach Marcelino signs on until 2020
The Asturian's contract was set to expire at the end of this season
Valencia and coach Marcelino García Toral have extended their link to 2020, the Spanish club announced Wednesday.
The original contract of the Asturian coach, signed last spring, ended in June 2019, so he is staying for an extra year.
A couple of weeks ago Valencia's director general Mateu Alemany said the club wanted to extend his contract. An agreement was reached quickly, with the team starting their pre-season training.
In their statement the club showed their 'special satisfaction' for the new deal and said Marcelino will speak at a press conference along with president Anil Murthy.
Marcelino got Valencia back in the Champions League this season, ending the negative dynamic set by previous coaches in a tough period for Los Che.
