Struggling Espanyol drop points in 2-2 draw with Real Betis

Espanyol and Real Betis draw 2-2 on Sunday at Rcde Stadium. Espanyol faced the match with a desire to make up their league after losing 2-0 against Real Madrid while Real Betis won in their last two matches of the competition against Athletic at home stadium, and Mallorca away, by 3-2 and 1-2 respectively. As of today, Espanyol is 20th in the LaLiga, having garnered 10 points from 17 matches, while Real Betis sits at 12th with 23 points after playing a total of 17 matches.

 Good start of the game for Real Betis, thanks to a good early goal from Borja Iglesias in the 4th minute. Espanyol gave an equalizer thanks to a goal from Sergi Darder in the 19th minute to establish the 1-1. Later, Espanyol scored again and turned the match 2-1 thanks to a goal from Bernardo Espinosa in the 41st minute just before the end of the 45 minutes, thereby seeing the first half to a 2-1.

 Real Betis took the lead in the second half, with a goal from Marc Bartra in the 67th minute, seeing the game to a 2-2 draw.

 At the end of the match, both teams made 3 substitutions each. For Espanyol, Naldo, Facundo Ferreyra and Ander Iturraspe came on for David Lopez, Victor Campuzano Bonilla and Esteban Granero, while Betis brought on Diego Lainez, Cristian Tello and Loren Moron to replace Nabil Fekir, Aissa Mandi and Joaquin.

 The referee booked Esteban Granero, Fernando Calero, Bernardo Espinosa and Facundo Ferreyra from Espanyol, while for Real Betis Zouhair Feddal saw a yellow card as well.

 Espanyol will play against Leganés at away stadium, while Real Betis will face Atlético de Madrid at home stadium.
