Pepe Bordalas’s squad travelled to Real Valladolid on Saturday, but came away with nothing as Real Valladolid take the points

Valladolid eased past Getafe in a 2-1 victory on Saturday at José Zorrilla. Real Valladolid were looking for a victory following a disappointing 1-1 draw with Celta Vigo in their previous game. Getafe, on the other hand, had been hopeful of extending their winning run, after a 3-0 victory against Valencia. After today's result, Real Valladolid and Getafe currently occupy 15th and 14th spots in the table, with 25 points and 27 points respectively after 26 matches.

Real Valladolid started the first half well, thanks to Oscar Plano opening the scoring in the 14th minute. Later, Real Valladolid scored again and increased their advantage thanks to a goal from Shon Weissman to make it 2-0. However, Getafe hit back in the 37th minute, with a goal from Jaime Mata. The score at half time was 2-1. With both teams struggling to produce anything meaningful in the second half though, the game ended 2-1.

For Real Valladolid Kenan Kodro, Fede San Emeterio, Michel Herrero, Jota and Luis Perez came on for Sergi Guardiola, Ruben Alcaraz, Roque Mesa, Fabian Orellana and Oscar Plano, while Getafe replaced Damian Suarez, Enes Ünal, Nemanja Maksimovic, Carles Alena and Allan Nyom for Takefusa Kubo, Cucho Hernandez, Angel Rodriguez, Francisco Portillo and David Timor.

The referee booked Ruben Alcaraz and Fede San Emeterio from Valladolid. Getafe had the worst of it though, with Takefusa Kubo and Allan Nyom seeing yellow, and Jaime Mata then sent off with a red.

Real Valladolid will next travel to Osasuna, while Getafe will face Atletico Madrid at home.
