Ozil: Leaving Real Madrid fo Arsenal was right decision
Mesut Ozil is in great form. After being the subject of criticism last season, the Arsenal midfielder has been reborn this season and it one of the main reasons the Gunners find themselves near the top of the Premier League.
With 15 assists after 17 games of the season, Ozil has created more goals than anyone else in the Premier League. On top of that, he feels important once again. In fact, he’s even been linked with a return to Real Madrid, although he’s rejected that idea in an interview with Kicker.
“I can only say that I am really happy in London,” the German international said. “My decision to leave Real Madrid for Arsenal was the correct one. There’s not been once day - apart from when I’ve been injured - that I have not felt really good here.”
The 27-year-old’s quotes arrive with his ex-team currently in a delicate moment, to the point that Rafael Benitez’s job is even on the line at Madrid.
