OFFICIAL: Spanish FA call elections
There will be elections on April 9 after Villar was disgraced
The Spanish Football Federation made official on Friday the calling of presidential elections. In a statement published today they said the elections would take place on April 9.
It is the final and definitive step after Angel Maria Villar went to prison. The electoral campaign has begun and will finish on the day of the votes. In fact this is just making official the decision taken on February 12, under Juan Luis Larrea.
For now the only public candidate is Luis Rubiales, with others like Larrea or former Valencia chief Manuel Llorente, potentially stepping forward.
