Official: Monchi returns to Sevilla as club's sporting director
Monchi returns to Seville after a brief spell with Italian side Roma
Sevilla confirmed on Sunday that Monchi has returned to the club as sporting director after leaving Roma last week.
Monchi returns to the club at a delicate time, with Pablo Machin sacked on Friday after the team's elimination from the Europa League.
Joaquin Caparros is currently overseeing first team duties but Monchi's first job will be to find a new coach.
There will be a press conference on Monday at the Sanchez Pizjuan on Monday to welcome Monchi back to the club for a second spell as sporting director.
Arsenal had been hopeful of convincing Monchi to move to London but once the option of a return to Sevilla came up there was only one option.
