The striker's waiting for FIFA to resolve the issue

Spain and Morocco are in the same group next summer

Alaves striker Munir El Haddadi, on loan from Barcelona, has said he would like to play for Morocco at the World Cup in Russia next summer, although he doesn't know if it will be possible yet.

The forward has double nationality and has told EFE that Morocco's Federation phoned him and told him there's a chance he could play for them despite having already played for Spain.

Munir made his Spain debut on Sept. 8, 2014, under Vicente Del Bosque after bursting on to the scene with Luis Enrique's Barça. His first appearance was in a qualifier against Macedonia (5-1) and he played 13 minutes.

But he has not played again for Spain and Del Bosque has said he "feels guilty that he cannot play for Morocco now."

"I would like to play for Morocco [at the World Cup]," said Munir. "It's a diffifuclt group and it's a coincidence that they've been drawn with Spain!"

Morocco hope that FIFA will allow them to register Munir to represent them at the World Cup and moving forward.
