Home crowd rewarded with a win, as Jagoba Arrasate’s team triumph over Rayo

Osasuna eased past Rayo Vallecano in a 1-0 victory on Saturday at the Estadio El Sadar. Both Osasuna and Rayo arrived in good form, having secured victories in their previous matches. Osasuna were looking to continue their run, following a 3-2 victory against Mallorca. Rayo were hoping to increase their winning streak after back-to-back victories against Cádiz and Athletic Bilbao. After today's result, Osasuna and Rayo currently occupy 5th and 6th spots in the table, with 14 points and 13 points respectively after 8 matches.

After an un-eventful first half, Los Rojillos applied pressure in the second and were rewarded, with a goal from Manu Sanchez just before the final whistle, leaving the final score at 1-0.

For Osasuna, Javi Martinez, Ezequiel Avila, Oier and Jose Angel, came on for Roberto Torres, Ruben Garcia, Jon Moncayola and Lucas Torro. Rayo brought on Sergi Guardiola, Randy Nteka, Óscar Valentín, Bebe and Unai Lopez, to replace Oscar Trejo, Falcao, Pathe Ciss, Isi Palazon and Santi Comesana.

There were bookings for Lucas Torro, Javi Martinez and Ezequiel Avila from Osasuna. For Rayo, Ivan Balliu, Oscar Trejo and Falcao saw yellow.
