Home crowd left stunned by Celta, as Eduardo Coudet’s squad seals victory

Celta Vigo eased past Levante in a 2-0 victory on Tuesday at the Ciutat de Valencia. Levante were looking for a victory following a disappointing 1-1 draw with Elche in their previous game. Celta, on the other hand, were beaten 2-1 in the previous match against Cádiz. As it stands, both teams are on 4 points and occupy 15th and 16th places respectively after 6 matches.

After an un-eventful first half, Celta continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, thanks to a goal from Iago Aspas in the 66th minute. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a goal from Brais Mendez just before the final whistle with a final score of 2-0.

For Levante, Jorge De Frutos Sebastian, Gonzalo Melero, Dani Gomez, Nikola Vukcevic and Alejandro Cantero, came on for Rober Pier, Pablo Martinez, Nemanja Radoja, Pepelu and Jorge Miramon. Celta brought on Nolito, Denis Suarez, Carlos Dominguez and Okay Yokuslu, to replace Renato Tapia, Franco Cervi, Iago Aspas and Brais Mendez.

There were bookings for Roger Marti, Jorge Miramon and Jorge De Frutos Sebastian from Levante, and Renato Tapia and Iago Aspas, for Celta.

Levante will next travel to Barcelona, while Celta will face Granada at home.
