Iago Aspas denies insulting Levante's Lerma
The midfielder says he did not call the opposition player a black shit
Levante midfielder Jefferson Lerma says Celta Vigo's Iago Aspas called him "a black shit" during the latter side's 1-0 win in Valencia.
Speaking to Gol TV, Lerma said: “I want to make an announcement, these acts of racism cannot happen. Yes (I told the ref) but the referee told me he was fed up of so much complaining, but I think that they will have to look at videos (of the incident) and we will see what happens.”
Celta published a statement which included a comment from Aspas denying making that comment.
“What is said on the pitch, stays on the pitch, so I will not repeat what he said to me. In any case, I did not say what he says I did," he said.
