Getafe's Jaime Mate named February's La Liga Player of the Month
The forward's pushed his team into Champions League contention
Getafe forward Jaime Mata has been named as La Liga's Player of the Month for February after firing his side into the fight for a Champions League spot.
Mata scored four goals and set up two more during the month as Getafe moved up the table into the fourth and final Champions League position.
After the goalless draw against Levante in week 22, the Getafe No.7 began a glorious run of form with a brace in the win over Celta Vigo -- when he also set up a goal.
He was also on target against Eibar and again against Rayo Vallecano on route to winning the Player of the Month award for the first time in his career.
Mata, who has scored 11 times this season, will collect the prize in front of his own supporters at the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez before Saturday's game against Huesca.
