He was the only Atletico Madrid player that was involved against Valencia who was made to train with the reserve team

The tug of war between Atletico Madrid and Filipe Luis continues as Paris Saint-Germain hope to poach the Brazilian left back before the transfer window closes next week. The latest update came in Atletico's first training session following the 1-1 draw with Valencia.

Filipe Luis trained in the morning alongside his teammates. Nothing out of the ordinary so far. What was unusual was that Filipe Luis was the only member of the first team which started against Valencia to train alongside those who were subsitutes at Mestalla. The rest were inside on a recovery session before later training on a different pitch.

With them was Lucas Herandez, who missed the first league match through suspension. The most common thing would've been to see Lucas with the reserves and the Brazilian with the starters.

The 'relegation' of Filipe Luis to the reserves might have something to do with PSG's interest in the player. Atletico were surprised when the left back admitted he wanted the club to listen to PSG's offer.

The transfer isn't straight forward either. On one side, Atletico have until the 31st August, the day the transfer window closes, to find a suitable replacement. If they manage to do this, Atletico would demand somewhere between €20m and €30m from PSG.

Enrique Cerezo spoke about the player's situation yesterday after the rumours of a PSG move won't go away. "Filipe is a great player and a magnificent person. We're trying to get him to stay but footballers choose where they want to play. We want him to stay. I'm optimistic. I believe he will stay, but we have to see what happens in the next few hours."
