Douglas: At Barça I would come home crying every day

The Brazilian has been very open about his two injury plagued years in Catalonia

Douglas has shown his most personal side in an interview with the newspaper El Comercio de Gijon.

The Brazilian full-back, currently on loan at Sporting Gijon form Barcelona, has admitted he had some really difficult moments at the Camp Nou club.

"At Barcelona I had some tough times with injuries. I'd come home crying every day, but it is what is it," the player explained about his time at Barça.

The Brazilian said he's always had to overcome difficulties, though: "From a young age I dreamed of being a footballer. It was difficult, but I made it. Now, again, I have to affront [the challenges] and continue moving forward."

Dougals added: "I never stopped feeling like a footballer and I never let my head drop. I'm no different now."

On the stories last month that he got injured on the team bus due to bad posture, he wanted to put things straight.

The right-back explained: "I was training the next day and they put that I was injured. It wasn't like that. It's something which made me sad."
