Unai Emery's squad now have 7 points from 5 games

Villarreal beats Elche 4-1 on Wednesday at the Estadio de la Ceramica. With both teams drawing in their previous fixtures, they were keen to pick up points. Villarreal wanted to continue adding points after a scoreless draw against Mallorca in their previous match. Elche, on the other hand, had managed to pick up a single point in their encounter with Levante. As it stands, Villarreal are currently 11th with 7 points from 6 matches, while Elche sit in 14th, with 6 points from 6.

The Yellow Submarine didn't take long to get on the score-sheet, with an early goal from Yeremi Pino in the 5th minute. However, their lead was short-lived, as an equalizer from Johan Mojica in the 19th minute, brought Elche level. However, Villarreal secured the points emphatically, with a goal from Manu Trigueros at the 39 minute mark. The score at half time was 2-1.

Villarreal continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, with a goal from Arnaut Danjuma in the 60th minute. However they weren't finished yet and Alberto Moreno made it 4-1 just before the final whistle with a final score of 4-1.

For Villarreal, Pervis Estupinan, Moi Gomez, Francis Coquelin, Boulaye Dia and Alberto Moreno, came on for Alfonso Pedraza, Yeremi Pino, Manu Trigueros, Paco Alcacer and Arnaut Danjuma.
