Villarreal beats Elche 4-1 on Wednesday at the Estadio de la Ceramica. With both teams drawing in their previous fixtures, they were keen to pick up points. Villarreal wanted to continue adding points after a scoreless draw against Mallorca in their previous match. Elche, on the other hand, had managed to pick up a single point in their encounter with Levante. As it stands, Villarreal are currently 11th with 7 points from 6 matches, while Elche sit in 14th, with 6 points from 6.

The Yellow Submarine didn't take long to get on the score-sheet, with an early goal from Yeremi Pino in the 5th minute. However, their lead was short-lived, as an equalizer from Johan Mojica in the 19th minute, brought Elche level. However, Villarreal secured the points emphatically, with a goal from Manu Trigueros at the 39 minute mark. The score at half time was 2-1.

Villarreal continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, with a goal from Arnaut Danjuma in the 60th minute. However they weren't finished yet and Alberto Moreno made it 4-1 just before the final whistle with a final score of 4-1.

For Villarreal, Pervis Estupinan, Moi Gomez, Francis Coquelin, Boulaye Dia and Alberto Moreno, came on for Alfonso Pedraza, Yeremi Pino, Manu Trigueros, Paco Alcacer and Arnaut Danjuma. Elche replaced Raúl Guti, Javier Pastore, Omar Mascarell, Dario Benedetto and Pere Milla with Ivan Marcone, Fidel, Gerard Gumbau, Lucas Perez and Antonio Barragan.

There were bookings for Alfonso Pedraza from Villarreal. For Elche, Fidel and Diego Gonzalez saw yellow.

Next up, Villarreal are away to R Madrid, whilst Elche will travel to face Real Sociedad.
