The midfielder saw red for a tough tackle and the coach for protesting the decision

There was bad news for Valencia on top of a 0-0 draw at Villarreal that leaves them winless this season and 15th in the table. Dani Parejo was sent off for a rough tackle on Ramiro Funes Mori, studs-up, which referee Jaime Latre deemed worthy of a red card.

The captain's dismissal also upset coach Marcelino, who was sent off for protesting about it. Curiously Valencia improved with 10 men and no coach, with Denis Cheryshev forcing Sergio Asenjo into a good save.

This is not the first time Marcelino has been sent off. In fact, it's the ninth. Last season against Espanyol he also was dismissed. The coach is set to miss the next game, at home against Celta Vigo.
