Correa goal keeps Sevilla on Barcelona's coattails in La Liga

Las Palmas will feel upset about losing a game they had more than enough chances to win

Sevilla returned to winning ways on Sunday with a 1-0 win against Las Palmas in Gran Canaria.

Jorge Sampaoli's side had lost to Espanyol and drawn with Villarreal in their last two outings, slipping down to third in the table .

However, a late goal from Joquin Correa ensured they didn't slip further behind Real Madrid and Barcelona this weekend. The three points keep them within one point of Barca and two of Madrid, who have played two games less.

Correa's winner came just three minutes after he'd replaced Ben Yedder. It was an 'English' style goal which won it, with a long kick forward from Sergio Rico flicked on by Vicente Iborra and Correa doing the rest.

Sevilla, therefore, were able to show that they can win while not being at their best.

It was tough on Las Palmas who will feel hard done by to have lost the game, with huge credit due to Sevilla stopper Rico. He made a spectacular save from Jese Rodriguez, who started along with Alen Halilovic, for the first time since joining the club in January.
