Sevilla president Jose Castro has confirmed Barcelona offer

Barça have experience in this area with Abidal and Vilanova

Barcelona have offered their medical team to Sevilla and their coach Eduardo Berizzo after it was confirmed he is suffering from cancer and will have to undergo treatment. Barça's experience of similar situations with Eric Abidal and Tito Vilanova, who was unable to overcome the disease, has allowed them to offer their help to Sevilla.

Sevilla president Jose Castro has confirmed the offer: "We appreciate the support from all clubs in Spain, like Barcelona, who unfortunately have experience in this area and have made available their medical team if necessary. We'd planned to make the announcement the day after the Liverpool game and that's how it's happened, even though there were rumours before.

"Berizzo is strong and will continue while we wait for treatment. It is a personal matter and we want to make it clear that he is our coach. We will support and rally round him because we are sure his problem will be solved."
