A stoppage time equaliser from Borja rescued a point against Eibar but Atletico will be disappointed to have drawn 1-1 with the Basque side.
It looked like it would be worse, though, when Sergi Enrich's 87th minute effort looked to have given the visitors the three points.
Atletico have picked up just five points from their first four games, leaving them seven points behind leaders Barcelona already.
Their only win came against Rayo Vallecano, while they were held by Valencia and well beaten by Celta Vigo before the international break.
It's their worst start to a league season under Siemone and their worst under any coach since 2009.
