Atletico Madrid interested in Benfica defender Alex Grimaldo
Per Cadena SER the former Barca defender is on Atletico's list of targets
Alejandro Grimaldo could return to La Liga with Atletico Madrid, say Cadena SER. The Rojiblancos want to strengthen their left flank and the Benfica player is top of the target list.
Felipe Luis's contract ends at the end of the current season and Atletico are searching for a replacement. Cholo Simeone is said to be taken by Grimaldo.
The 23-year-old, a former Barca youth player, has been playing well for Benfica and is wantd by various clubs. Benfica have resisted the sale so far and would want around 30 million euros. An obstacle which stopped him going to Napoli last summer.
Atletico are interested but would want to lower the price and the club believe they can.
