Atletico Madrid 2-1 Levante: Oblak the hero as Simeone's men hang on

Levante suffered an away defeat to Atlético at Wanda Metropolitano on Saturday. Atlético de Madrid and Levante arrived at this match after previous wins. Atlético de Madrid arrived with the intention of increasing their league score after winning their previous two matches against Real Betis away and Osasuna at home stadium, by 1-2 and 2-0 respectively while Levante won in their last two matches of the competition against Celta at home stadium, and Granada away, by 3-1 and 1-2 respectively. At the moment, Atlético de Madrid and Levante occupy position 3rd (35 points) and 9th (26 points) respectively after playing a total of 19 matches.

 The game started favourably for Atlético de Madrid, with a goal from Angel Correa in the 13th minute. However, Levante found an equaliser 1-1 thanks to a goal from Roger Marti 16 minutes in the game. Atlético de Madrid took the lead thanks to a goal from Felipe in the 18th minute to establish the 2-1, which saw the first half to a 2-1.

 Atlético de Madrid and Levante were struggling to produce anything in the second half and the teams went to the dressing room locked in a 2-1.

 For Atlético, Vitolo and German Valera Karabinaite came on for Borja Mayoral, Ruben Rochina and Nemanja Radoja, while Levante substituted Jose Luis Morales, Hernani and Nikola Vukcevic with Borja Mayoral, Ruben Rochina and Nemanja Radoja.

 The referee booked Thomas Partey from Atlético, while for Levante Ruben Rochina, Erick Cabaco and Nikola Vukcevic saw a yellow card as well.
