Alaves avoid defeat and secure a 1-0 victory at home to Atleti

Alaves snatched all three points from Atletico Madrid in a 1-0 victory on Saturday, at the Estadio de Mendizorroza. Alaves were hoping to get something from this game, following a previous defeat to Espanyol. Atleti, on the other hand, were looking to extend their winning run after a 2-1 victory against Getafe. After today's result, Alaves and Atleti sit 19th, (3 points) and 2nd, (14 points), in the table respectively, after 7 matches.

Alaves started the game well, with an early goal from Victor Laguardia in the 4th minute to see out the first half 1-0. The second 45 minutes ended with little further action at either end and goalless.

For Alaves, Joselu, Facundo Pellistri, Tomas Pina, Alberto Rodriguez and Saul Garcia, came on for Mamadou Sylla, Miguel De la Fuente, Toni Moya, Ruben Duarte and Luis Rioja.
