La Liga want to switch the location of this season's two Clasicos, as first reported by El Pais, due to the political unrest in Catalonia.
Barcelona are due to host Real Madrid on Oct. 26 but La Liga, headed by Javier Tebas, have asked the RFEF is the game could be played in Madrid instead, despite the logistical problems.
"We have requested the RFEF's competition committee meet and change the location of the Clasico to Madrid because of exceptional circumstances beyond our control," a La Liga spokesman said.
La Liga want to avoid the game becoming a security risk. If Barcelona and Madrid both accept the proposal, the return fixture would be played at Camp Nou on March 1 2020.
Now the competition committee must talk with the two clubs and decide what's the best action to take, with Monday the latest possible deadline for a decision.
