Sevilla sell striker Luis Muriel to Serie A side Atalanta
The Colombian will cost the Italians around 20 million euros
Sevilla confirmed on Friday that they have sold Colombian striker Luis Muriel to Italian side Atalanta, who will pay around 20 million euros for the player.
Muriel, 28, returns to Italy, where he played for Sampdoria and Fiorentina before joining Sevilla in 2017.
He is currently with the Colombian national team at the Copa America in Brazil, where he injured his knee in his country's opening game against Argentina.
The forward became Sevilla's most expensive ever player when they paid 22 million euros for him two summers ago, but it has not worked out in Spain. He has scored 13 goals in 65 games.
Sevilla thanked him for his "hard work" during his two years at the club and wished him "all the best in the next stage" of his career.
