OFFICIAL: Albert Celades is confirmed as Valencia's new head coach
Peter Lim sacked Marcelino and has chosen the former Spain U21 coach to replace him
This afternoon Valencia dropped a bombshell by announced that Marcelino Garcia Toral had been sacked as the club's head coach. No reason was given at the time, nor a mention of when a potential replacement would come in. However, it appears Valencia were preparing for this as Albert Celades has been confirmed as the new head coach. He's signed a two-year deal.
Celades was spotted on an AVE train going from Madrid to Valencia as rumours of Marcelino's impending exit were spreading across social media.
The former Spain U21 coach is stepping into his first senior role in the dugout. He's got previous experience at youth level and most recently was part of Julen Lopetegui's coaching staff at Real Madrid.
