Former Real Madrid coach and current Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has accepted a suspended one-year prison sentence after being charged for tax fraud totaling €3.3 million.

According to El Mundo, in the coming days, the Tax Office will communicate to the court overseeing the case that they have reached an agreement with Mourinho.

The newspaper reports that the Portuguese coach has accepted the charge that in 2011 and 2012 he hid earning from image rights from the Tax Office via the British Virgin Islands.

After accepting wrongdoing in each of the two years, Mourinho has been sentenced to six months for each of the crimes he is accused of, which adds up to the one-year sentence.

However, first-time offenders in Spain who are handed sentences of less than two years do not serve them, so Mourinho's sentence is suspended.
