Mohamed Salah wins FIFA best goal award at The Best gala
The Liverpool striker picked up the goal award for a strike in the Premier League against Everton
Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah was the surprising winner of the best goal award at FIFA's 'The Best' gala in London, thanks to a strike in the Premier League against Everton.
It was a surprising choice given Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale's overhead kicks against Juventus and Liverpool respectively were also options.
Lionel Messi also had a chance of winning it, for his goal against Nigeria for Argentina in the World Cup in Russia.
"I hope this is not the last prize of the night," said Salah. "Thanks for this award."
