Iniesta: I was upset with Hierro's decision to bench me at World Cup

"I don't have a good memory of the World Cup in Russia," Iniesta has admitted

Former Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta, now playing in Japan for Vissel Kobe, will feature in Salvados on Sunday.

In one part of the show, Iniesta refers to a delicate moment of his life, when he was struggling with depression: "I came back after winning the treble with Barcelona and all that I wanted to do was go home at night, take a pill and sleept."

Another low for Iniesta was the way his Spain career ended -- left on the bench for La Roja's defeat to Russia at the World Cup in the summer by stand-in coach Fernando Hierro.

"I don't have a good memory of the World Cup in Russia," he said. "I didn't understand the decision to leave me on the bench or Hierro's reasons for doing so. I was upset, I didn't care what he said."
