Guardiola reveals Aguero off to Barça and hints Messi will stay at Camp Nou
"Aguero is going to be playing alongside the best player of all time, Messi," Pep said
Pep Guardiola revealed Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero is close to signing for Barcelona and that Lionel Messi will be staying at Camp Nou.
Aguero scored twice on Sunday in his final Premier League appearance for City before his contract ends next month.
SPORT revealed earlier this month that he's close to signing for Barça and Guardiola confirmed that to be the case, while also hinting that Messi will sign a new deal at Camp Nou.
"Maybe I reveal a secret," Guardiola told the BBC on Sunday. "Maybe (Aguero) is close to agreeing a deal for the club of my heart -- for Barcelona.
"He is going to be playing alongside the best player of all time, Messi. I'm pretty sure he is going to enjoy. And maybe Barcelona are stronger and stronger with him on the pitch."
Aguero announced earlier this season he will leave City when his deal expires but Messi has not yet revealed whether he will extend his stay at Barça or not.
The arrival of Aguero, his friend and teammate with the Argentine national team, could convince him to remain put.
