Real Betis haven't announced how long the player will be out for but they hope to have him available for their LaLiga's opener next weekend

Real Betis winger, Cristian Tello, underwent surgery this Wednesday to remove a blood clot on his back. "He'll need to rest before slowly getting back out onto the pitch," is what Betis said about the player's recovery. Although they stopped short of stating a specific timeframe for his return.

The former Barcelona forward, who is about to start his second season at Betis, suffered the injury last Saturday in a match against Cardiff City.

"The medical services at Betis have surgically drained the area."

Tello, as a result of this pain, didn't join his teammates in Montecastillo, Jerez. This is where Betis will have a mini-preseason ahead of the new campaign getting underway.

Betis will fly out to Italy on Thursday to play against newly promoted Frosinone.
