Ajax call up Real Madrid-bound Van de Beek for their Champions League tie
The midfielder has reportedly agreed personal terms with Madrid but is still called up for Ajax's next European fixture
Despite reports which suggested that Donny Van de Beek was about to sign for Real Madrid, Ajax have instead called him up for their squad to face PAOK in the next round of the Champions League qualifiers.
Van de Beek remains an Ajax player of course and is expected to feature in Tuesday's first leg match against the Greek side.
Van de Beek admitted a few days ago that Madrid were interested in him and talks were ongoing between them and his current club, Ajax. He appeared for the side in the league opener against Vitesse, getting on the scoresheet as well.
It's worth remembering that this season players can no longer be cup-tied in the Champions League.
