The midfielder has renewed his commitment with the club until 2027
Midfielder Fermín López put pen to paper on his new Barcelona contract at an event on Tuesday.
Fermín has renewed until 2027. The player from El Campillo has exceeded all expectations since returning from his loan at Linares last season with his great performances under Xavi Hernandez. His release clause is now €400 million.
The renewal was finalised on Aug. 29, but as with the rest of the players who signed last summer or renewed with Barça Atlètic, it was not until the middle of October that their signatures were formalised with the president of the club, Joan Laporta.
Also present at the signing ceremony were the manager responsible for youth football, Joan Soler; the president of Barça Atlètic, Jordi Casals; the director of the academy, José Ramón Alexanco; and the coordinator of youth football, Toni Hernández.
The signing ceremony was held at the FC Barcelona offices and in previous days players such as Lamine Yamal had also signed alongside the president.
In addition to Fermín, Ander Astralaga, Biel Vicens and Jaume Cuéllar also signed their renewal contracts on Tuesday. The Basque is the third goalkeeper of the first team, the centre-back is injured and has undergone surgery and Cuellar is one of the signings of this season and is a full international for the Bolivian national team.
Fermín is having all the confidence of Xavi Hernández with the Barcelona first team. He has played 276 minutes and has scored one goal. It was in Mallorca and saved a point in Son Moix.
Although it was not in an official match, his goal against Real Madrid in the clásico played in the American city of Dallas also remains in the memory.
